This is so GREAT! Kathrine Switzer, the first woman to run the Boston Marathon and author of Marathon Woman, will kick off the Naperville Women's Half Marathon & 5K weekend on Friday, April 22, at 6 p.m. with a speech at Wentz Hall on the NCC campus. If you have not heard her story, it's a must. By registering for and finishing the marathon in 1967, despite the race director's efforts to physically remove her from the course, Swtizer kicked open the door for women's running and continued on that path. For more information on Switzer and to register for the evening, follow the link below. Admission is free and open to the public. Registration is required and seating is limited, so register now! http://www.active.com/naperville-il/running/distance-running/a-women-s-evening-of-sport-guest-speaker-kathrine-switzer-2016
