It's going to be a hot weekend for racing! Here are a few tips for staying hydrated, courtesy of Nathan. 1. Develop a race day nutrition & hydration plan so you know what & when you will eat & drink on race day. Make sure it includes eating & drinking 45 minutes to an hour after the start of the race or you might become dehydrated and lose steam before the end. Train with this plan first. 2. Sorry for the frankness, but check your pee. On the days before a big race, stay hydrated but don't over-hydrate. If your urine is totally clear, maybe you're drinking a bit too much. If it's like iced tea, you're not drinking enough. Go for yellow! 3. Finally, on race morning, drink about about 8 to 16 ounces to stay hydrated, but stop drinking one hour before race start to avoid early pit stops. Good Luck!
